Blakey Slab is a condensed, all-caps slab serif typeface in two weights, Regular & Bold. It was originally designed by Matt Willey to be donated to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union).

Blakey Slab was used in the New York Times Magazine L.A. Noir ‘Great Performances’ issues published in print and also used online in an experimental video series which received wide acclaim for the sharp presentation and elegant use of this unexpected type choice.

In 2020 Matt became a partner at Pentagram in New York and donated a further 5 type families to BuyFontsSaveLives including Blakey Slab. An updated version 2.0 of the typeface was released in late 2020.

All BFSL typefaces sold will raise much needed funds for Cancer Research & MacMillan Cancer Support; your purchase could literally save lives. Thank you.
